  1. Maintain and monitor the Mainframe zOS systems to ensure their smooth operation.
  2. Perform routine system checks and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  3. Collaborate with other members of the IT team to implement system updates and upgrades.
  4. Ensure compliance with company and industry security standards.
  5. Manage and allocate system resources to optimize performance.
  6. Develop and maintain system documentation and procedures.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in Mainframe zOS technology.
  8. Identify and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency.
  9. Provide technical support and assistance to end-users.
  10. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and maintenance.
  11. Train and mentor junior system administrators.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management.
  13. Adhere to project deadlines and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  14. Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures.
  15. Identify and implement cost-saving measures in system maintenance and operations.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience With Ibm Mainframe Zos Operating System: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have A Strong Background In Working With Mainframe Zos Systems, Including Installation, Configuration, And Maintenance Of Hardware And Software Components.

  • Knowledge Of Mainframe Security And Compliance: A Mainframe Zos System Administrator At Wipro Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Mainframe Security Protocols, Access Controls, And Compliance Standards. This Includes The Ability To Identify And Address Potential Security Risks And Ensure The Mainframe Environment Is In Compliance With Industry Regulations.

  • Proficiency In Mainframe Utilities And Tools: The Candidate Should Be Well-Versed In A Variety Of Mainframe Utilities And Tools, Such As Jcl, Tso, Ispf, And Smp/E. They Should Also Have Experience With Mainframe Storage Management, Performance Monitoring, And Job Scheduling.

  • Strong Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: Mainframe Zos System Administrators Are Responsible For Identifying And Resolving Complex Technical Issues. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving, With The Ability To Quickly Diagnose And Resolve Issues To Minimize Downtime.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Mainframe Zos System Administrator, The Candidate Will Be Part Of A Larger Team And Will Need To Collaborate Effectively With Other It Professionals. Strong Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Crucial For This Role To Ensure Effective Communication And Coordination With Team Members And Other Stakeholders.
