- Receive and process merchandise deliveries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Inspect all incoming shipments for damages and discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate parties.
- Accurately record and document received inventory and update inventory systems.
- Organize and store received merchandise in designated areas.
- Collaborate with store management and other departments to ensure proper and efficient handling of merchandise.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area to comply with health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and other team members to resolve any shipment or inventory issues.
- Assist with inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including proper handling and storage of perishable items.
- Uphold the high standards of Whole Foods Market in regards to quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move and store merchandise.
- Participate in store meetings and training sessions to stay updated on company policies and procedures.
- Handle any customer inquiries or concerns related to merchandise delivery and inventory.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure accurate and timely ordering of merchandise.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Strong Organizational Skills: As A Store Receiver, You Will Be Responsible For Receiving And Tracking Inventory Shipments, So It Is Essential To Have Excellent Organizational Skills To Manage And Maintain Accurate Records.
Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In This Role, As You Will Be Responsible For Inspecting Deliveries And Ensuring That All Items Are Accounted For And In Good Condition. Paying Close Attention To Detail Will Help Prevent Errors And Discrepancies.
Physical Ability: This Job Can Involve Heavy Lifting And Moving Of Inventory, So Physical Strength And Stamina Are Necessary. You Should Be Able To Lift And Carry Up To 50 Pounds And Be Comfortable Working On Your Feet For Extended Periods.
Communication Skills: As A Store Receiver, You Will Be Working Closely With Vendors, Store Managers, And Other Team Members. Effective Communication Skills Are Essential To Ensure Smooth Coordination And Timely Delivery Of Inventory.
Knowledge Of Inventory Management Systems: Whole Foods Market Uses A Variety Of Inventory Management Systems To Track And Manage Inventory. Familiarity With These Systems, Or The Ability To Quickly Learn And Adapt To New Technology, Is A Valuable Qualification For This Role.
