Prepared Foods Associate Team Leader
Whole Foods Market is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Prepared Foods Associate Team Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of our Prepared Foods department, ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality, freshest and most flavorful foods. We are looking for someone with a passion for food and a strong knowledge of culinary techniques, as well as the ability to lead and train a team. - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Prepared Foods department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
- Ensure that all food products are prepared, stored, and displayed in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Lead and train a team of associates in all aspects of the Prepared Foods department, including food preparation, customer service, and merchandising.
- Continuously monitor and maintain product levels and quality, anticipating and addressing any potential issues.
- Collaborate with other team leaders and department managers to ensure a cohesive and efficient store operation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing exceptional service and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new products, and make recommendations for menu changes and improvements.
- Assist with scheduling and staffing, ensuring appropriate coverage for all shifts and maintaining labor costs within budget.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with ordering and receiving of products to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Uphold the company's values and standards, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including food handling and safety guidelines.
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies to increase sales and profitability of the Prepared Foods department.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management, providing updates on department performance and addressing any issues or concerns.
- Mentor and support team members in their professional development, providing guidance and feedback as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the store manager or other members of leadership.
Culinary Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Culinary Role, Such As A Chef Or Line Cook, Is Required For This Position. This Experience Should Include Food Preparation, Cooking Techniques, And Knowledge Of Various Cuisines.
Leadership Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience In A Leadership Role, Such As A Shift Supervisor Or Team Leader. They Should Possess Strong Communication And Organizational Skills, As Well As The Ability To Motivate And Train Team Members.
Food Safety Knowledge: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Food Safety Regulations And Procedures, Including Proper Handling, Storage, And Labeling Of Food Items. A Certification In Food Safety Is Preferred.
Product Knowledge: A Deep Understanding Of Whole Foods Market's Products, Including Their Sourcing, Ingredients, And Cooking Methods, Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Also Be Able To Make Recommendations And Suggestions To Customers Based On Their Dietary Needs And Preferences.
Customer Service Orientation: The Prepared Foods Associate Team Leader Will Be Responsible For Ensuring A High Level Of Customer Satisfaction Within The Department. Candidates Should Have Excellent Customer Service Skills, A Friendly Demeanor, And The Ability To Handle Customer Complaints And Concerns Effectively.
