Welcome to the Department of Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies at Western Washington University! We are currently seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Non-tenure Track Faculty members. Our department is committed to promoting critical thinking and fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. As a non-tenure track faculty member, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our dynamic curriculum and engage with our diverse student body. - Teach courses in women, gender, and sexuality studies, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students and promote critical thinking.
- Develop and update course curriculum to reflect current research and perspectives in the field.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
- Provide academic advising and support to students in the department.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the department's curriculum and initiatives.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current in the field and bring new perspectives to the classroom.
- Maintain regular office hours to meet with students and provide additional support and guidance.
- Participate in department meetings and contribute to departmental decision-making processes.
- Contribute to the department's commitment to diversity and inclusion through teaching, research, and service.
- Participate in community outreach and engagement activities to promote the department and its mission.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the department chair or other administrative staff.
- Adhere to university policies and procedures, as well as ethical and professional standards.
A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies Or A Related Field.
Demonstrated Expertise And Experience In Teaching Courses Related To Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies, Including But Not Limited To Feminist Theory, Gender And Sexuality, And Intersectionality.
A Strong Commitment To Inclusive And Intersectional Approaches To Teaching And Scholarship.
Experience And/Or Interest In Community Engagement And Social Justice Work Related To Women, Gender, And Sexuality.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With A Track Record Of Successful Collaboration And Teamwork.
