Job Description

Welcome to the Department of Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies at Western Washington University! We are currently seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Non-tenure Track Faculty members. Our department is committed to promoting critical thinking and fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. As a non-tenure track faculty member, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our dynamic curriculum and engage with our diverse student body. If you are a dedicated educator with a strong background in the field of women, gender, and sexuality studies, we encourage you to apply.

  1. Teach courses in women, gender, and sexuality studies, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students and promote critical thinking.
  2. Develop and update course curriculum to reflect current research and perspectives in the field.
  3. Create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
  4. Provide academic advising and support to students in the department.
  5. Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the department's curriculum and initiatives.
  6. Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current in the field and bring new perspectives to the classroom.
  7. Maintain regular office hours to meet with students and provide additional support and guidance.
  8. Participate in department meetings and contribute to departmental decision-making processes.
  9. Contribute to the department's commitment to diversity and inclusion through teaching, research, and service.
  10. Participate in community outreach and engagement activities to promote the department and its mission.
  11. Fulfill other duties as assigned by the department chair or other administrative staff.
  12. Adhere to university policies and procedures, as well as ethical and professional standards.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies Or A Related Field.

  • Demonstrated Expertise And Experience In Teaching Courses Related To Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies, Including But Not Limited To Feminist Theory, Gender And Sexuality, And Intersectionality.

  • A Strong Commitment To Inclusive And Intersectional Approaches To Teaching And Scholarship.

  • Experience And/Or Interest In Community Engagement And Social Justice Work Related To Women, Gender, And Sexuality.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With A Track Record Of Successful Collaboration And Teamwork.
