Job Description

Western Washington University (WWU) is seeking an enthusiastic individual for the role of Assistant Professor in Biological Anthropology. The successful applicant must have a commitment to excellence in teaching and research, and be dedicated to the ideals of diversity and inclusion. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per year, conducting and publishing research, and contributing to the department’s and university’s mission.The ideal candidate will have an earned Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology or a closely related field with evidence of teaching excellence and an active research agenda. The individual should demonstrate competence in biological anthropology and the ability to teach a wide variety of courses in the discipline. The candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will be expected to develop successful grant proposals and mentor students in research activities.This is a great opportunity to join a vibrant academic community and contribute to the teaching and research mission of the department and university.
