- Safely transport patients to and from various areas of the hospital, including but not limited to: admissions, diagnostic imaging, surgery, and discharge.
- Ensure timely and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and supplies, adhering to scheduled appointments and emergency situations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and healthcare staff to provide a positive and comfortable experience during transport.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including keeping transport equipment and vehicles sanitized and in good working condition.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while transporting patients and equipment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with nursing staff to prioritize and coordinate transport requests, and assist with patient transfers as needed.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on hospital policies, procedures, and safety practices.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care and customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Valid Driver's License And Clean Driving Record: As A Transporter, You Will Be Responsible For Safely Transporting Patients, Equipment, And Supplies Between Different Areas Of The Hospital. A Valid Driver's License And Clean Driving Record Are Essential To Ensure The Safety Of All Individuals.
Basic Medical Knowledge And Understanding Of Patient Care: Working In A Hospital Setting Requires A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Procedures, And Patient Care. This Knowledge Will Help You Communicate Effectively With Healthcare Professionals And Provide Appropriate Support To Patients During Transport.
Physical Stamina And Strength: This Position May Require You To Push, Pull, And Lift Heavy Equipment Or Patients. The Ability To Stand And Walk For Extended Periods And Perform Physically Demanding Tasks Is Crucial For Success In This Role.
Flexibility And Adaptability: As A Transporter, You May Be Required To Work 24 Hours/Night Shifts, Including Weekends And Holidays. Being Able To Adapt To A Changing Schedule And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment Is Essential For This Position.
