- Safely transport patients throughout the hospital, ensuring their comfort and well-being at all times.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while transporting patients, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and staff.
- Communicate effectively with nursing and other healthcare staff to ensure timely and efficient patient transportation.
- Keep accurate records of patient transports and report any issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including patient transport equipment.
- Assist with the proper transfer and positioning of patients in and out of beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers.
- Ensure that all equipment used for patient transport is in good working condition and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, answering any questions or addressing any concerns.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and trainings as required.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as HIPAA regulations.
- Continuously evaluate and improve patient transport processes to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with all members of the healthcare team.
- Uphold the hospital's mission and values in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Participate in other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or hospital administration.
Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): A Cdl Is Required For Operating Large Vehicles Such As Ambulances And Transport Vans. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Safely Transport Patients And Equipment.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Basic Education Is Required For This Position To Effectively Communicate With Patients And Medical Staff, Read And Understand Transportation Instructions, And Complete Required Paperwork.
Previous Transportation Experience: Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting Or As A Professional Driver Is Preferred For This Role. This Demonstrates A Familiarity With Transport Procedures And The Ability To Handle Emergency Situations.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Critical For Accurately Communicating With Medical Staff And Understanding Patient Needs During Transportation.
Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills: Transporters Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Family Members, And Medical Staff. They Must Also Possess Strong Customer Service Skills To Provide A Positive And Reassuring Experience For Patients During Transportation.
