As a Transporter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of patients, equipment, and supplies throughout our hospital. - Safely and efficiently transport patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the hospital, including to and from procedures, tests, and appointments.
- Assist patients in and out of beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including disinfecting equipment and reporting any maintenance or cleanliness issues.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and hospital staff in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Prioritize and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing needs and priorities.
- Collaborate with other hospital departments to ensure timely and accurate patient transport.
- Respond to emergency situations and assist medical staff as needed.
- Document patient transport and any relevant information accurately and promptly.
- Attend training and education sessions to maintain and improve skills and knowledge related to patient transport and care.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and exceptional patient care.
- Report any concerns or issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Valid Driver's License And Clean Driving Record: A Transporter At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Must Have A Valid Driver's License And A Clean Driving Record To Safely Operate Hospital Vehicles And Transport Patients, Visitors, And Staff.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For A Transporter Position At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. This Ensures Basic Education And Communication Skills Are Met For Interacting With Patients And Hospital Staff.
Customer Service Skills: Transporters At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Must Have Excellent Customer Service Skills To Provide A Positive And Professional Experience For Patients And Visitors During Transport To And From Different Areas Of The Hospital.
Physical Ability: The Role Of A Transporter Requires Physical Stamina And The Ability To Lift And Transfer Patients Safely. Candidates Must Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job, Including Standing, Walking, And Pushing Wheelchairs Or Stretchers For Extended Periods.
Familiarity With Medical Terminology And Hospital Procedures: While Not Required, Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Hospital Procedures Is Preferred For A Transporter At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. This Can Help With Communication And Understanding Specific Patient Needs During Transport.
