You will also have the opportunity to utilize your strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate and oversee the daily operations of our surgical pathology department.To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience working in a surgical pathology laboratory.   1. Process and accurately label surgical specimens according to established protocols and procedures.
  2. Collaborate with pathologists and surgeons to prioritize and complete specimen processing in a timely manner.
  3. Maintain and update records and databases related to surgical pathology specimens.
  4. Ensure compliance with all safety and quality control regulations within the surgical pathology department.
  5. Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and other team members to coordinate and facilitate the smooth operation of the department.
  6. Train and supervise lower-level staff members on proper specimen handling techniques and procedures.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems that may arise during specimen processing.
  8. Order and maintain inventory of necessary supplies and equipment for the surgical pathology department.
  9. Participate in the development and implementation of new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  10. Stay up-to-date with advancements and changes in surgical pathology techniques and technologies.
  11. Provide support and assistance to pathologists during surgical procedures, including retrieving and preparing specimens for analysis.
  12. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, such as HIPAA and OSHA.
  13. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare facilities to coordinate the transfer of specimens and information.
  14. Participate in departmental and hospital-wide meetings and committees as required.
  15. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve skills and knowledge in the field of surgical pathology.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology, Pathology, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Surgical Pathology, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Techniques, Equipment, And Quality Control Procedures.

  • Strong Organizational And Time Management Skills, With The Ability To Handle Multiple Tasks And Prioritize Effectively.
