  1. Assist in providing exceptional care to organ transplant patients and their families.
  2. Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
  3. Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the nurse in charge.
  4. Assist with patient care procedures, such as dressing changes, wound care, and medication administration under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
  7. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
  8. Participate in patient rounds and report any observations or concerns to the nurse in charge.
  9. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
  10. Attend in-service trainings and educational sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
  11. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  12. Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families.
  13. Assist with the organization and stocking of patient care supplies.
  14. Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  15. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  16. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
  17. Adhere to the values and mission of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.
  18. Work collaboratively with other nursing students and healthcare professionals.
  19. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions.
  20. Attend team meetings to discuss patient care plans and provide input.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Enrollment In A Nursing Program: As A Summer Nursing Student Patient Care Associate, It Is Important To Have A Foundational Knowledge Of Nursing Principles And Practices. Therefore, The Ideal Candidate Should Be Currently Enrolled In A Nursing Program And Have Completed At Least One Year Of Coursework.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Role Of A Patient Care Associate Involves Interacting With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members On A Daily Basis. Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Building Rapport And Effectively Communicating With A Diverse Group Of Individuals.

  • Previous Patient Care Experience: Prior Experience In A Patient Care Setting, Such As A Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Or Volunteer, Is Highly Desirable. This Demonstrates A Familiarity With Basic Patient Care Tasks And An Understanding Of The Healthcare Environment.

  • Ability To Work 32-Hour Rotating Shifts: The Summer Nursing Student Patient Care Associate Will Be Expected To Work A 32-Hour Rotating Shift, Which Includes Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, And Holidays. The Candidate Must Be Able To Commit To This Schedule And Have The Flexibility To Adjust To Changing Shift Rotations.
