  1. Sterilize and disinfect surgical instruments and equipment according to established procedures and protocols.
  2. Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  3. Assemble and package surgical instrument sets for use in procedures.
  4. Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and instrument inventory.
  5. Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure timely and efficient instrument processing.
  7. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and participate in ongoing education and training.
  8. Communicate effectively with team members and superiors to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety.
  9. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on sterilization equipment.
  10. Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to safety, confidentiality, and patient care.
  11. Proactively identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
  12. Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed.
  13. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
  14. Uphold the hospital's mission and values in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
  15. Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Sterile Processing Certification: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have A Recognized Certification In Sterile Processing, Such As The Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Or The Certified Sterile Processing And Distribution Technician (Cspdt).

  • Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques: A Deep Understanding Of Different Sterilization Methods, Including Steam, Ethylene Oxide, And Hydrogen Peroxide, Is Necessary For This Role. The Candidate Should Also Be Familiar With Proper Handling And Inspection Of Surgical Instruments.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Sterile Processing Technician, Meticulous Attention To Detail Is Crucial To Ensure That All Instruments And Equipment Are Properly Cleaned, Sterilized, And Assembled. A Small Mistake In This Role Can Have Serious Consequences For Patient Safety.

  • Teamwork And Collaboration: The Candidate Should Possess Strong Teamwork Skills And Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Members Of The Surgical Team. The Ability To Collaborate With Other Departments, Such As Nursing And Operating Room Staff, Is Also Essential For This Role.

  • Physical Stamina: The Job Of A Sterile Processing Technician Can Be Physically Demanding, Requiring The Individual To Stand For Long Periods, Lift Heavy Equipment, And Perform Repetitive Tasks. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Demands Of The Job.
