  1. Properly sterilize and prepare medical equipment and supplies in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  2. Adhere to infection control guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  3. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies and equipment.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure timely delivery of sterilized equipment and supplies.
  5. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment and machinery.
  6. Ensure accurate documentation and labeling of equipment and supplies.
  7. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on industry standards and best practices.
  8. Follow all safety protocols and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow HIPAA regulations.
  10. Cross-train in other areas of the hospital as needed.
  11. Assist with equipment and supply orders and deliveries.
  12. Serve as a mentor to new sterile processing team members.
  13. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures.
  14. Attend meetings and provide input on departmental needs and challenges.
  15. Represent the hospital in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Sterile Processing Tech Ii At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Educational Qualification.

  • Certification: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Certification In Sterile Processing Such As The Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Or The Certified Sterile Processing And Distribution Technician (Cspdt).

  • Relevant Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Sterile Processing Is Required For This Position, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Sterilization Techniques, Infection Control Practices, And Proper Handling Of Medical Equipment.

  • Attention To Detail: The Sterile Processing Tech Ii Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure That Medical Equipment Is Properly Cleaned, Sterilized, And Assembled According To Hospital Standards And Guidelines.
