
RN Student Summer Patient Care Associate (PCA/CNA)
Welcome to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital! We are currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated RN students to join our team as Summer Patient Care Associates (PCA/CNA). - Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control procedures.
- Respond to patient calls and requests in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Document patient care activities and observations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Attend trainings and educational sessions to improve knowledge and skills in patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
- Assist with transportation of patients to and from procedures and appointments.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
- Serve as a positive role model for fellow students and staff by demonstrating professionalism and a strong work ethic.
- Maintain a positive and caring attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
- Continuously strive to improve patient care and contribute to the overall success of the hospital.
Completion Of At Least One Year Of An Accredited Registered Nursing Program: As A Rn Student Summer Pca/Cna, Applicants Should Have A Strong Foundation In Nursing Skills And Knowledge. Completion Of At Least One Year Of An Accredited Rn Program Demonstrates The Candidate's Academic Readiness For The Role.
Current Cna Certification: As A Pca/Cna, The Applicant Should Have A Current Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification To Ensure They Have The Necessary Skills And Training To Provide Basic Patient Care.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Member Of The Healthcare Team, The Pca/Cna Will Need To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Teamwork Skills Are Also Important For Collaborating With Other Members Of The Care Team.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: As A Pca/Cna, The Applicant Should Have Current Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification To Respond To Emergency Situations And Provide Basic Life Support Measures If Needed.
Previous Healthcare Experience: While Not Required, Previous Healthcare Experience, Such As Working As A Pca/Cna Or Volunteering In A Healthcare Setting, Can Demonstrate The Candidate's Passion For The Field And Their Ability To Handle The Responsibilities Of The Job. It Can Also Provide Valuable Hands-On Experience That Can Benefit The Candidate In Their Role As A Rn Student Summer Pca/Cna.
