  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

  11. Stay current on advancements in cancer care and continuously improve nursing skills.
  12. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
  13. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  14. Act as an advocate for patients and their families.
  15. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and colleagues.
  16. Maintain a positive and professional attitude in all interactions.
  17. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
  18. Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
  19. Attend training and educational programs as required.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Rn License: A Qualified Candidate For The Rn Cancer Center Position At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Should Possess A Current And Valid Rn License In The State Of Massachusetts. This Demonstrates That The Individual Has Met The Educational And Competency Requirements Necessary To Practice As A Registered Nurse.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: While An Associate's Degree In Nursing May Be Acceptable For Some Nursing Positions, The Rn Cancer Center Position At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Requires A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing. This Higher Level Of Education Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Research, Which Is Essential For Providing High-Quality Care To Oncology Patients.

  • Oncology Certification: To Be Considered For The Rn Cancer Center Position, Candidates Should Have A Current Certification In Oncology Nursing From A Recognized Accrediting Body Such As The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (Oncc). This Certification Demonstrates A Specialized Knowledge And Expertise In Caring For Cancer Patients.

  • Experience In Oncology Nursing: The Ideal Candidate For The Rn Cancer Center Position Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In An Oncology Setting. This Experience Should Include A Variety Of Patient Populations, Treatment Modalities, And Disease Processes Related To Cancer Care.

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: Working In A Cancer Center Requires Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Healthcare Teams. The Ideal Candidate Should Also Possess Strong Critical Thinking Skills To Assess, Plan, And Implement Individualized Care Plans For Cancer Patients.
