- Conduct initial patient evaluations, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical exams.
- Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal conditions, including performing diagnostic procedures and interpreting test results.
- Collaborate with surgeons to develop treatment plans for patients.
- Perform surgical procedures under the supervision of a licensed physician.
- Monitor and manage post-operative care for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and medication regimens.

A Degree From An Accredited Physician Assistant Program: Candidates For A Physician Assistant Colorectal Surgery Position At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Must Have Completed A Master's Degree Or Higher From An Accredited Physician Assistant Program.
Active Licensure And Certification: All Applicants Must Hold A Current And Unrestricted Physician Assistant License In The State Of New Hampshire, As Well As Be Certified By The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).
Experience In Colorectal Surgery: Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Is Seeking Candidates With A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In Colorectal Surgery. This Experience Should Include Both Inpatient And Outpatient Care, As Well As Assisting In Surgical Procedures.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: The Role Of A Physician Assistant In Colorectal Surgery Requires The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Candidates Must Also Demonstrate A Strong Ability To Work Collaboratively With Members Of The Healthcare Team.
Knowledge Of Current Medical Practices And Procedures: Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Current Medical Practices And Procedures Related To Colorectal Surgery, Including Familiarity With The Latest Surgical Techniques And Technologies.
