- Perform blood collection and processing procedures according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and proper labeling of specimens.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the phlebotomy and processing areas.
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff to obtain necessary information and provide clear instructions.
- Adhere to infection control and safety procedures to prevent the spread of disease.
- Utilize proper techniques to minimize discomfort and promote patient comfort during blood collection.
- Verify and record patient information, including demographics, medical history, and insurance information.
- Properly handle and transport specimens for testing, ensuring timely delivery to the laboratory.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of phlebotomy and processing supplies.
- Follow established quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address patient concerns or questions in a professional and compassionate manner.

Certified Phlebotomy Technician: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Certification As A Phlebotomy Technician From An Accredited Organization, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).
Experience In Specimen Processing: Candidates Must Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In Specimen Processing, Preferably In A Hospital Setting. This Includes Knowledge Of Handling, Labeling And Transporting Various Types Of Specimens.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Laboratory Procedures: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Laboratory Procedures Is Essential For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Familiar With Different Types Of Tests And Their Corresponding Protocols.
Attention To Detail And Accuracy: As A Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Collecting And Processing Patient Specimens. Attention To Detail And Accuracy Are Crucial In Order To Ensure That The Correct Specimens Are Collected And Processed Accurately.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As They Will Be Interacting With Patients, Physicians, And Lab Staff On A Daily Basis. Compassion, Empathy, And The Ability To Work Well In A Team Are Also Important Qualities For This Role.
