- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures to collect blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
- Properly label and prepare blood samples for testing and analysis, following established protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
- Interact with patients in a professional and compassionate manner, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Accurately input patient and sample information into computer systems.
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate sample collection and processing.
- Monitor inventory of supplies and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be ordered.
- Remain updated on industry developments and advancements in phlebotomy techniques.
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional care and building strong connections with patients.
- Attend trainings and meetings as required.

Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Training Program: Candidates For A Phlebotomist Position At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Should Have Completed A Formal Training Program From An Accredited Institution.
