- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medication to patients according to established procedures and protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients to provide exceptional customer service and address any concerns or questions.
- Prepare and label medications accurately and efficiently, including IV admixtures and unit dose packaging.
- Monitor medication storage and expiration dates, ensuring safe and effective use of all medications.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge of current pharmacy practices and procedures.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to prevent medication errors and ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of automated medication dispensing systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or supervising pharmacist.
Certified Pharmacy Technician: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Certification As A Pharmacy Technician From An Accredited Program. This Ensures That They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Job Duties Effectively.
Previous Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Pharmacy Technician In A Hospital Setting Is Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With Hospital Policies And Procedures, As Well As Medication Management Protocols.
Strong Medication Knowledge: The Candidate Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Different Types Of Medications, Their Uses, And Potential Interactions. This Is Essential For Accurately Dispensing Medications And Providing Medication Education To Patients.
