
Pharmacy Intern
Demonstrates competence in the performance and responsibilities related to providing the safe and appropriate dispensing and preparation of medications in accordance with federal, state and local laws and in compliance with the requirements of the state's Board of Pharmacy. Compounds and accurately dispenses medications and sterile IV products including TPN. Accurately monitors drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug/drug interactions, food/drug interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug dose and frequency. Contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department. Demonstrates proficiency in information systems including clinical information system, automated dispensing system, and vault management system. Calls patients' pharmacies to verify accuracy of medications when necessary. Manages inventory and par levels of Emergency Department automated dispensing units.
Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff
Health System experience preferred but not required
