Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, in partnership with Massachusetts General Hospital, is seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team at our state-of-the-art facility. In this role, you will work closely with our renowned pediatric surgeons to provide exceptional care to our young patients.   1. Collaborate with pediatric surgeons to provide high-quality care to young patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  2. Utilize advanced clinical skills and knowledge to assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric patients.
  3. Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including physical examinations and medical histories.
  4. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging, to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.
  5. Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies as needed for patient care.
  6. Educate patients and their families on post-surgical care and recovery.
  7. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  8. Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  9. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment plans.
  10. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical standards.
  11. Stay current on best practices and evidence-based guidelines in pediatric care.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with developing and implementing new protocols and procedures.
  13. Collaborate with hospital leadership to ensure efficient and effective delivery of care.
  14. Foster a compassionate and supportive environment for patients and their families.
  15. Maintain professional development and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Licensure As A Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant In The State Of Massachusetts.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Pediatric Surgery, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Certification In Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls).

  • Ability To Work Independently And Collaboratively In A Fast-Paced, Dynamic Environment.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With A Focus On Patient-Centered Care.
