
Patient Transport Associate

- Transport patients safely and efficiently throughout the hospital, ensuring their comfort and well-being at all times.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to provide exceptional customer service and address any concerns or needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport equipment, including wheelchairs and stretchers.
- Prioritize and manage multiple patient transport requests, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as safety protocols, while transporting patients.
- Collaborate with other hospital departments to coordinate patient transfers and ensure smooth transitions of care.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during transport, especially for those who may be anxious or in pain.
- Accurately document patient transport activities and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Attend required training and education sessions to maintain current knowledge and skills.
- Strive to continuously improve the patient transport process and provide feedback for potential improvements.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Candidates For This Position Should Have At Least A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education. This Ensures That They Have A Basic Understanding Of Math, Reading, And Writing, Which Are Essential Skills For A Patient Transport Associate.
Cpr Certification: Due To The Nature Of The Job, Candidates Must Be Certified In Cpr. This Certification Should Be Up To Date And From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Red Cross Or The American Heart Association.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Patient Transport Associate, You Will Be Interacting With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Strong Communication Skills, Including The Ability To Listen And Follow Instructions, Are Essential For This Role.
Physical Fitness: This Job Requires Frequent Lifting And Transporting Of Patients, As Well As Pushing Wheelchairs And Stretchers. Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform These Tasks With Ease.
Knowledge Of Medical Equipment And Terminology: While Formal Training May Not Be Required, Candidates With Prior Knowledge Of Medical Equipment And Terminology Will Have An Advantage.
