Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Escort/Messenger to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in the patient experience by providing safe, timely, and courteous transportation services for our patients throughout the hospital.   1. Provide safe and timely transportation services for patients throughout the hospital.
  2. Ensure the comfort and well-being of patients during transport.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide a positive experience.
  4. Follow hospital policies and procedures for transporting patients, including infection control protocols.
  5. Maintain accurate records of patient transport activities.
  6. Collaborate with other hospital staff to coordinate patient transportation needs.
  7. Use appropriate equipment and techniques to safely move patients, including wheelchairs and stretchers.
  8. Assist with the admission and discharge process for patients.
  9. Respond quickly and efficiently to urgent or emergency transport requests.
  10. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times.
  11. Ensure a clean and organized environment in patient transport areas.
  12. Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and improve skills.
  13. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  14. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
  15. Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with colleagues and other hospital staff.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For This Job Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Basic Knowledge And Skills Required For The Job.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital, Clinic, Or Medical Office, Is Preferred For This Role. It Demonstrates The Candidate's Familiarity With Hospital Protocols And Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Patient Escorts/Messengers Need To Have Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Interact With Patients, Visitors, And Hospital Staff. They Should Be Able To Communicate Effectively And Calmly In High-Stress Situations.

  • Physical Fitness And Stamina: This Job Requires Constant Movement And The Ability To Walk, Stand, And Lift Heavy Objects. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Have The Stamina To Work Long Shifts And Handle Physically Demanding Tasks.

  • Basic Computer Skills: Patient Escorts/Messengers May Be Required To Use Hospital Computer Systems For Tracking Patient Transport And Maintaining Records. Basic Computer Skills, Such As Data Entry And Navigating Electronic Systems, Are Necessary For This Role.
