  1. Provide direct care and assistance to patients in the Acute Medical unit at MGH.
  2. Monitor and report changes in patients' physical and emotional well-being to the medical team.
  3. Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and ambulating.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare professionals.
  5. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
  6. Document patient care activities and maintain accurate records.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  8. Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients and their families.
  9. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality and coordinated patient care.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and respect patients' rights and privacy.
  13. Act as an advocate for patients and their needs.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while providing care to patients.
  15. Remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations.
  16. Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of illness.
  17. Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  18. Assist with the organization and stocking of medical supplies.
  19. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  20. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Cna Certification: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Cna Certification From An Accredited Program, Demonstrating Their Knowledge And Skills In Patient Care.

  • Acute Medical Experience: Previous Work Experience In An Acute Medical Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Medical Center, Is Highly Preferred For This Position.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: The Ability To Perform Basic Life Support Techniques, Such As Cpr, Is Essential For A Patient Care Assistant In An Acute Medical Setting.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills In Order To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members.

  • Attention To Detail: Acute Medical Settings Require A High Level Of Attention To Detail, And The Ideal Candidate Should Have The Ability To Accurately Document And Report Patient Information.
