Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as an MGH Unit Coordinator on the night shift in the Ellison 12 unit. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting our healthcare team and ensuring efficient operations within the unit.   1. Greet and welcome patients, families, and visitors to the unit with a friendly and professional attitude.
  2. Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical charts and electronic health records.
  4. Coordinate appointments and procedures for patients, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  5. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
  6. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies for the unit as needed.
  7. Collaborate with the nursing and support staff to ensure timely and efficient delivery of patient care.
  8. Manage unit schedules and coordinate staffing needs with the Nurse Manager.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
  10. Assist with data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks as required.
  11. Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure effective communication and understanding of treatment plans.
  12. Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  13. Stay updated on hospital policies, procedures, and protocols and ensure they are followed by all staff.
  14. Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and promoting a positive work environment.
