- Assist plastic surgeons during procedures, ensuring a safe and sterile environment.
- Prepare patients for surgery and educate them on post-operative care instructions.
- Administer medications and assist with wound care as directed by the plastic surgeon.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including pre-operative and post-operative documentation.
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the plastic surgeon.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are properly sterilized and functioning.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Continuously educate and update oneself on the latest developments and techniques in plastic surgery.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families throughout the surgical process.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures to ensure a safe and professional work environment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic approach towards patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Graduation From An Accredited Medical Assistant Program.
A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Medical Assistant In A Plastic Surgery Setting.
Certification As A Medical Assistant (Cma) Through The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama).
Knowledge Of Plastic Surgery Procedures, Terminology, And Equipment.
