- Provide exceptional patient care and customer service at all times.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take and record patient vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and equipment for patient use.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient referrals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Educate patients on proper self-care techniques and medication instructions.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with medical advancements and best practices.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Display professionalism and compassion when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervising healthcare providers or management.
High School Diploma Or Ged: A Medical Assistant 1 At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Must Possess A High School Diploma Or Ged To Demonstrate Basic Education And Knowledge.
Completion Of A Medical Assistant Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A Recognized Medical Assistant Program To Have A Thorough Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Clinical Procedures.
Medical Assistant Certification: Candidates Must Have A Current Medical Assistant Certification From An Accredited Organization Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The American Medical Technologists (Amt).
Prior Experience: Previous Experience Working As A Medical Assistant In A Healthcare Setting Is Preferred. This Demonstrates The Candidate’s Ability To Efficiently Handle Patient Care And Clinical Tasks.
Knowledge Of Electronic Health Records (Ehr) Systems: Proficiency In Using Electronic Health Records Systems Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Must Be Able To Accurately Input And Retrieve Patient Information And Update Medical Records As Needed.
