- Coordinate and oversee the delivery of care to laboring patients and their families, ensuring high-quality and compassionate care is provided.
- Work closely with the labor and delivery team to ensure efficient and effective patient flow and timely delivery of care.
- Monitor and assess patient progress and provide support and guidance to the healthcare team as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, treatments, and medications.
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on the labor and delivery process, including postpartum care and newborn care.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols related to labor and delivery.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing best practices for labor and delivery care.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to coordinate patient transfers and other logistical needs.
- Stay current with advancements in labor and delivery care by attending trainings, conferences, and workshops.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient satisfaction and continuously strive to improve the patient experience.
Bachelor’s Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Labor And Delivery Unit Coordination Or A Related Role.
Current Certification In Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp).
Strong Organizational, Communication, And Leadership Skills.
Knowledge Of Labor And Delivery Unit Operations, Including Scheduling, Staffing, And Patient Care Processes.
