  1. Provide financial counseling and guidance to patients and their families, helping them navigate the complexities of healthcare finances.
  2. Assess patients' financial situations and develop personalized plans to address their specific needs and concerns.
  3. Educate patients on financial assistance programs and resources available to them, and assist with the application process.
  4. Work closely with insurance companies and healthcare providers to ensure accurate billing and payment processes.
  5. Advocate for patients and negotiate payment plans or discounts when necessary.
  6. Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient financial information and interactions.
  7. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to patient care.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, policies, and regulations related to healthcare finances and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  9. Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and resources to enhance the financial support available to patients.
  10. Provide excellent customer service and support to patients, responding to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  11. Continuously strive to improve the financial counseling process and enhance the overall patient experience.
  12. Act as a mentor to new financial counselors and provide training and support as needed.
  13. Adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines related to financial counseling and maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
  14. Represent the hospital and its values positively in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and community partners.
  15. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas and suggestions for improving financial counseling services.
