
EMG Technician, Neurology

- Perform nerve conduction studies and EMG tests to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with neurological disorders.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and document all findings accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly sterilized and maintained for safe and effective use.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely test results.
- Educate patients on the procedures and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
- Maintain accurate records of all tests performed and communicate results to the appropriate healthcare team members.
- Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and techniques in EMG and nerve conduction studies.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as safety and infection control standards.
- Provide exceptional patient care and ensure their comfort and well-being throughout the testing process.
- Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and healthcare team members to maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and trainings as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and abide by HIPAA regulations.
- Follow all ethical and professional standards in accordance with the hospital's code of conduct.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and protocols related to EMG and nerve conduction studies.
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing techniques and processes to ensure the highest level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide support and guidance to other staff members, such as training new technicians or assisting with difficult cases.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and report any potential hazards or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with billing and coding teams to ensure accurate and timely billing for services rendered.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the Neurology department.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Neuroscience, Biology, Or Biomedical Engineering.
Certification As A Registered Electrodiagnostic Technologist (R.e.t.) Through The American Board Of Registration Of Electroencephalographic And Evoked Potential Technologists (Abret).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Performing Electromyography (Emg) Procedures In A Clinical Setting.
Knowledge And Proficiency With Various Emg Equipment And Software, Including Natus And Cadwell Systems.
Strong Understanding Of Neuroanatomy And Physiology, With The Ability To Accurately Interpret And Report Emg Findings To Physicians.
