Job Description

Welcome to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, where our mission is to provide compassionate and innovative care to our community. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled ED Transport Associate to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients within our Emergency Department.   1. Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff to the hospital with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  2. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the hospital's mission and values and incorporate them into daily interactions with patients and colleagues.
  3. Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to prioritize patient transport needs and provide timely and safe transportation services.
  4. Responsible for transporting patients to and from various locations within the Emergency Department, including diagnostic imaging, procedure rooms, and inpatient units.
  5. Ensure proper patient identification and documentation before transport, and accurately record transportation data in electronic medical records.
  6. Monitor and report any changes in patient condition during transport to the appropriate medical personnel.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including equipment and transport carts.
  8. Utilize proper infection control techniques, including hand hygiene and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
  9. Attend departmental meetings and participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve job skills and knowledge.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as safety and regulatory guidelines.
  11. Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
  12. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members.
  13. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and empathetic manner.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For This Role Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Can Understand And Follow Instructions.

  • Previous Healthcare Experience: Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Particularly In Emergency Or Transport Services, Is Highly Desirable. This Shows That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Unique Demands And Protocols Of A Hospital Environment.

  • Basic Life Support Certification: As An Ed Transport Associate, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Transporting Patients To And From Various Hospital Departments. Having A Current Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Indicates Knowledge And Training In Emergency Medical Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: The Ability To Communicate Clearly And Effectively With Patients, Families, And Hospital Staff Is Crucial In This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Listen Actively, Convey Information Accurately, And Maintain A Professional Demeanor At All Times.

  • Physical Fitness And Stamina: This Job Requires Frequent Lifting, Pushing, And Pulling Of Heavy Equipment And Patients. Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Demands Of The Job, Including Standing For Long Periods And Working In A Fast-Paced Environment.
