- Accurately and efficiently register patients in the Emergency Department (ED) using hospital computer systems.
- Collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information, including verifying insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to obtain necessary information and answer any questions or concerns.
- Collaborate with ED staff, including nurses and physicians, to ensure accurate and timely patient registration and record-keeping.
- Utilize excellent customer service skills to create a positive and welcoming environment for patients and their families.
- Keep abreast of all hospital policies and procedures related to patient registration and insurance requirements.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including updating information as needed and filing paperwork according to hospital standards.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, hospital staff, and insurance companies to assist with any registration or billing issues.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on any changes or updates in procedures or policies.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the Emergency Department.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing excellent patient care and promoting a positive patient experience.
- Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of patient registration and record-keeping in the ED.
Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced, High-Stress Environment And Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously.
Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration Or A Related Field.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures, Specifically In The Emergency Department.
