High School Diploma Or Equivalent: The First Requirement For A Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Coa) Job At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Education And Is Able To Handle The Demands Of The Job.
Coa Certification: The Candidate Must Have A Current Coa Certification From The Joint Commission On Allied Health Personnel In Ophthalmology (Jcahpo). This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Assist Ophthalmologists In Patient Care.
Previous Experience: Prior Experience Working As An Ophthalmic Assistant Or In A Related Field Is Preferred. This Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Familiarity With Ophthalmic Procedures And Equipment, As Well As Their Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment.
Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Equipment: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Different Types Of Ophthalmic Equipment Used In Eye Exams And Procedures. This Includes Knowledge Of Diagnostic Instruments, Surgical Equipment, And Electronic Medical Records Systems.
Strong Communication Skills: As A Coa, The Candidate Will Be Required To Interact With Patients, Doctors, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis.
