- Perform sterilization procedures on medical equipment and supplies to ensure the safety and effectiveness of patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in the central sterile department.
- Adhere to all established protocols and guidelines for sterilization and infection control.
- Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any malfunctions or issues to superiors.
- Handle and process equipment and supplies in a timely manner to meet the demands of various hospital departments.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies and equipment.
- Accurately document and maintain records of sterilization procedures and equipment maintenance.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering necessary supplies and equipment.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices for sterilization procedures.
- Provide support and training to new staff members and students in the central sterile department.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Follow all hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and positive work environment.
- Attend relevant training and educational opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

Certification: A Central Sterile Tech Ii Must Have A Current Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (Iahcsmm).
Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Central Sterile Tech I Or In A Similar Role In A Hospital Setting.
Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Sterilization Techniques, Including High-Temperature Steam Sterilization, Low-Temperature Sterilization, And Ethylene Oxide Sterilization.
Attention To Detail: This Role Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure That All Medical Instruments And Equipment Are Properly Cleaned, Sterilized, And Stored According To Hospital And Industry Standards.
Communication Skills: Strong Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role, As Central Sterile Tech Iis Work Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals To Ensure That All Instruments And Equipment Are Available And Ready For Use When Needed. They Must Also Be Able To Effectively Communicate Any Issues Or Concerns Regarding The Sterilization Process.
