As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy equipment, ensuring the efficient and safe disposal of waste materials. Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, and compactors to efficiently and safely dispose of waste materials.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures at all times to maintain a safe work environment.
Lead a team of equipment operators and provide guidance, training, and support as needed.
Monitor equipment performance and identify and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed to ensure proper functioning.
Keep accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs.
Work closely with landfill management to coordinate daily operations and ensure efficient waste disposal.
Monitor waste disposal operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain efficiency and meet productivity goals.
Communicate with other team members and departments to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations.
Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to environmental sustainability in all tasks and responsibilities.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and suggest ways to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Adhere to company policies and procedures and promote a positive and professional work environment.
Complete any additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications

Extensive Experience Operating Heavy Equipment: A Lead, Heavy Equipment Operator At A Landfill Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Types Of Heavy Equipment And Their Functions. They Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Operating Equipment Such As Bulldozers, Excavators, And Compactors.
Knowledge Of Landfill Operations And Regulations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Landfill Operations, Safety Protocols, And Environmental Regulations. This Includes Knowledge Of Proper Waste Disposal Procedures, Equipment Maintenance, And Landfill Design.
Leadership Skills: As A Lead Operator, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Supervising And Training A Team Of Equipment Operators. They Should Possess Strong Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Delegate Tasks, Provide Guidance And Direction, And Promote A Positive And Productive Work Environment.
Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is A Crucial Aspect Of This Role As The Lead Operator Will Need To Communicate With Other Team Members, Supervisors, And Management. They Should Be Able To Clearly Convey Instructions, Report Any Issues Or Concerns, And Maintain Open Communication With All Stakeholders.
Safety-Oriented Mindset: Working In A Landfill Can Be Hazardous, And It Is Essential For The Lead Operator To Prioritize Safety At All Times. They Should Have A Strong Safety Record And Be Knowledgeable About Safety Procedures And Protocols. They Should Also Be Able To Identify And Address Potential Safety Hazards To Ensure A Safe Working Environment For The Team.
