Monitor and maintain landfill gas systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with landfill gas systems, including identifying and repairing leaks, blockages, and malfunctions.
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks, such as wellhead replacements, condensate management, and flare maintenance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and improve landfill gas management strategies.
Utilize technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to identify and implement solutions for complex issues.
Keep accurate records and documentation of landfill gas system performance, maintenance activities, and repairs.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on landfill gas systems.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to landfill gas management.
Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding system performance, issues, and maintenance needs.
Contribute to waste management sustainability goals by reducing carbon footprint through effective landfill gas management.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge Of Landfill Gas Collection And Control Systems: A Landfill Gas Technician Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Operation And Maintenance Of Landfill Gas Collection And Control Systems, Including Gas Wells, Piping, Blowers, And Flare Systems.
Experience With Gas Monitoring And Analysis Equipment: Landfill Gas Technicians Should Be Familiar With Gas Monitoring And Analysis Equipment Such As Gas Chromatographs, Infrared Analyzers, And Flame Ionization Detectors. They Should Also Have Experience Calibrating And Maintaining This Equipment.
Understanding Of Environmental Regulations: As A Part Of Their Job, Landfill Gas Technicians Must Ensure That The Landfill Gas Collection And Control Systems Comply With Local, State, And Federal Regulations. Hence, They Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Environmental Regulations Related To Landfill Gas Management.
Mechanical And Electrical Troubleshooting Skills: Landfill Gas Collection And Control Systems Involve Complex Mechanical And Electrical Components. A Landfill Gas Technician Should Have Strong Troubleshooting Skills To Identify And Resolve Any Issues That May Arise.
Safety Training And Certifications: Landfill Gas Collection And Control Systems Can Pose Significant Safety Hazards, And It Is Essential For A Landfill Gas Technician To Have Proper Safety Training And Certifications. This Includes Training In Confined Space Entry, Hazardous Materials Handling, And Personal Protective Equipment (Ppe) Use.
