  1. Operate heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, and compactors, in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  3. Perform daily inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues to supervisor.
  4. Properly dispose of waste materials in designated areas according to company and environmental regulations.
  5. Monitor waste levels and compact waste as needed to maximize space and efficiency.
  6. Communicate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate and prioritize tasks.
  7. Maintain accurate records of materials moved and disposed of, as well as any equipment maintenance or repairs.
  8. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to environmental compliance.
  9. Train and mentor new operators as needed.
  10. Continuously seek ways to improve and optimize waste management operations.
  11. Act as a positive representative of the company, promoting our mission to create a cleaner and healthier world.
  12. Attend training sessions and meetings to stay updated on new equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.
  13. Report any safety hazards, accidents, or incidents to supervisor immediately.
  14. Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  15. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Operating Heavy Equipment In A Landfill Or Construction Setting Is Required. This Includes Experience Operating Excavators, Bulldozers, Compactors, And Other Landfill-Specific Equipment.

  • Safety Training And Certifications: The Candidate Must Have Completed All Required Safety Training And Hold Relevant Certifications, Such As Osha 10 Or 30-Hour Construction Safety And Health Training, Confined Space Entry Training, And Hazardous Waste Operations And Emergency Response Training.

  • Physical Fitness: The Job Of A Heavy Equipment Operator Landfill Requires Physical Strength, Stamina, And Agility. The Candidate Must Be Able To Lift And Move Heavy Objects, Stand For Long Periods, And Work In All Weather Conditions.

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Knowledge Of Heavy Equipment Mechanics And Troubleshooting Is Essential For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Perform Routine Maintenance And Minor Repairs On Equipment To Ensure Safe And Efficient Operation.

  • Teamwork And Communication Skills: As Part Of A Landfill Crew, The Heavy Equipment Operator Must Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Other Team Members. Effective Communication Skills Are Also Necessary For Coordinating Tasks And Ensuring Safety On The Job Site.
