- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, and compactors to manage waste disposal in the landfill.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Monitor equipment performance and report any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of equipment to prevent breakdowns and delays in operations.
- Conduct routine inspections and pre/post-operation checks on equipment to ensure functionality and identify any potential issues.
- Follow all waste management regulations and guidelines to ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
- Work closely with the landfill team to coordinate and prioritize tasks for efficient operations.
- Keep accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations and address any concerns that may arise.
- Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency and productivity in waste management operations.

- Attend training sessions and workshops to stay updated on equipment operation techniques and safety procedures.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to waste management and heavy equipment operation.
Experience Operating Heavy Equipment: A Heavy Equipment Operator Ii- Landfill Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Operating Heavy Equipment Such As Bulldozers, Excavators, And Compactors. This Experience Should Be Specifically In Landfill Operations To Ensure Familiarity With The Unique Challenges And Safety Protocols Involved.
Knowledge Of Landfill Operations And Regulations: The Job Requires A Thorough Understanding Of Landfill Operations, Including The Placement And Compaction Of Waste, The Maintenance Of Drainage Systems, And The Monitoring Of Gas Emissions. The Ideal Candidate Will Also Have Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations Related To Landfill Operations And Environmental Compliance.
Cdl And Other Certifications: A Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl) Is Typically Required For A Heavy Equipment Operator Ii- Landfill Position. In Addition, Candidates Should Have Other Relevant Certifications Such As Osha Safety Training, Landfill-Specific Training, And Hazardous Materials Handling Certification.
Physical Ability And Dexterity: The Job Of A Heavy Equipment Operator Ii- Landfill Is Physically Demanding And Requires The Ability To Work In All Weather Conditions. Candidates Should Be Able To Lift Up To 50 Pounds, Climb, Bend, And Operate Heavy Equipment For Extended Periods Of Time.
Problem-Solving And Communication Skills: The Ability To Troubleshoot And Make Sound Decisions Is Crucial For A Heavy Equipment Operator Ii- Landfill.
