Waste Management is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Shift Supervisor to join our team. As the Shift Supervisor, you will oversee a team of mechanics and technicians responsible for maintaining our fleet of trucks and heavy equipment.   1. Manage and lead a team of mechanics and technicians to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of the fleet of trucks and heavy equipment.
  2. Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to keep the vehicles in optimal working condition.
  3. Monitor and track the performance of the fleet, identifying any issues or areas for improvement and taking appropriate action.
  4. Train and mentor team members on safe and efficient maintenance practices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  5. Prioritize and delegate tasks to team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks and minimize downtime of vehicles.
  6. Conduct regular inspections of the fleet to identify any potential problems and proactively address them before they become major issues.
  7. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts inventory, and equipment maintenance history.
  8. Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and logistics, to ensure that the fleet is meeting the needs of the business.
  9. Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders to provide updates on fleet maintenance and address any concerns or issues.
  10. Stay current on industry trends and developments in vehicle maintenance, and make recommendations for improvements or changes to enhance fleet performance and efficiency.
  11. Uphold and promote a culture of safety, ensuring that all team members follow proper safety protocols and regulations.
  12. Monitor and manage the budget for fleet maintenance, ensuring that expenditures are within budget and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  13. Conduct performance evaluations and handle any disciplinary actions for team members as necessary.
  14. Assist with hiring and training new team members to maintain a skilled and efficient workforce.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and implement them to increase efficiency and productivity of the fleet maintenance team.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Fleet Maintenance: A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Fleet Maintenance, With A Strong Understanding Of Vehicle Systems, Maintenance Procedures, And Repair Techniques.

  • Leadership Skills: Ability To Supervise And Lead A Team Of Maintenance Technicians, Ensuring They Follow Safety Protocols, Complete Tasks Efficiently, And Maintain High-Quality Standards.

  • Knowledge Of Waste Management Regulations: Familiarity With Local, State, And Federal Regulations Related To Waste Management Vehicles, Including Emissions Standards, Safety Regulations, And Environmental Requirements.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, To Effectively Communicate With Team Members, Management, And Vendors.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven Ability To Identify And Troubleshoot Complex Mechanical Issues, Develop Effective Solutions, And Make Decisions Quickly To Minimize Downtime And Maintain Productivity.
