Oversee all aspects of the district landfill operations, including daily activities, maintenance, and long-term planning.
Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and company standards, including proper handling, disposal, and documentation of waste.
Monitor and maintain landfill gas systems and leachate collection systems to ensure proper operation and compliance.
Develop and implement procedures and protocols to improve and maintain the safety and efficiency of the landfill operations.
Supervise and train staff to ensure they are following proper procedures and protocols, and provide ongoing support and guidance.
Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for waste diversion and reduction.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify any potential issues and ensure compliance with all regulations and standards.
Manage budget and expenses for the district landfill operations, including forecasting and cost control measures.
Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in landfill management practices, and implement best practices when necessary.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional development opportunities for staff.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree In Environmental Science, Engineering, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Landfill Operations And Management.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Regulations Related To Waste Management And Landfill Operations.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills To Effectively Manage A Team And Interact With Stakeholders.
Ability To Analyze Data And Make Informed Decisions To Ensure Compliance And Optimize Landfill Operations.
