Job Description

Are you a skilled leader with a passion for optimizing fleet operations? Waste Management is seeking a District Fleet Manager to oversee our second shift operations. As a District Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the maintenance and repair of our fleet vehicles, as well as ensuring the safety and efficiency of our drivers.   1. Oversee the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles to ensure their safe and efficient operation.
  2. Coordinate with drivers and other team members to optimize fleet operations and ensure timely delivery of services.
  3. Create and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of fleet operations.
  4. Monitor vehicle usage and maintenance costs to identify areas for cost savings and optimization.
  5. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols, promoting a culture of safety among all team members.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance and repairs.
  7. Manage and allocate resources, including budget, staff, and equipment, to effectively maintain fleet operations.
  8. Communicate regularly with upper management to provide updates on fleet operations and address any issues or concerns.
  9. Train and mentor team members, including drivers and maintenance staff, to improve their skills and knowledge.
  10. Conduct regular inspections and audits of fleet vehicles and equipment to identify any potential issues and ensure compliance with company standards.
  11. Identify and troubleshoot any problems or issues related to fleet operations, taking proactive measures to address them.
  12. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements, implementing new technologies and processes to improve fleet operations.
  13. Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and operations, to ensure smooth and efficient coordination of services.
  14. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all fleet maintenance and repair activities.
  15. Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as all local, state, and federal regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Fleet Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Managing A Fleet Of Vehicles, Preferably In The Waste Management Industry. They Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Fleet Maintenance And Compliance Regulations.

  • Leadership Skills: As A District Fleet Manager, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Mechanics And Drivers. They Should Have Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage And Motivate Their Team, As Well As The Ability To Make Strategic Decisions For The Fleet.
