Job Description

Welcome to Waste Management, where we pride ourselves on providing sustainable waste management solutions to communities across the country. We are currently seeking a CDL Driver Apprentice to join our team and learn the ropes of the waste management industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to gain hands-on experience and become a skilled CDL driver. As an apprentice, you will work alongside our experienced drivers, receiving on-the-job training and developing the necessary skills to excel in this role. If you have a strong work ethic, a passion for driving, and a willingness to learn, we want to hear from you!

  1. Assist experienced CDL drivers in daily tasks and learn the proper techniques for waste management operations.
  2. Receive on-the-job training and actively participate in learning all aspects of CDL driving, including vehicle maintenance, safety protocols, and route planning.
  3. Develop a strong understanding of company policies, procedures, and regulations related to waste management.
  4. Learn and adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the safe operation of commercial vehicles.
  5. Assist with loading and unloading waste materials from the truck and properly securing them for transport.
  6. Ensure the proper maintenance and cleanliness of assigned company vehicles.
  7. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient and safe waste management operations.
  8. Actively participate in safety meetings and comply with all safety protocols and procedures.
  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of driving logs, vehicle inspections, and other required documentation.
  10. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to learn and improve skills to become a skilled CDL driver.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): A Cdl Driver Apprentice Should Possess A Valid Cdl With The Appropriate Endorsements For The Type Of Vehicle They Will Be Operating.

  • Clean Driving Record: A Clean Driving Record Is Essential For A Cdl Driver Apprentice As They Will Be Responsible For Transporting Waste Materials On Public Roads. Any Major Traffic Violations Or Accidents May Disqualify A Candidate From Consideration.

  • Physical Fitness: The Job Of A Cdl Driver Apprentice Can Be Physically Demanding, Requiring The Ability To Lift Heavy Objects, Climb In And Out Of The Truck, And Sit For Extended Periods Of Time. Candidates Should Be In Good Physical Condition To Perform These Tasks.

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Most Employers Prefer Candidates For A Cdl Driver Apprentice Position To Have A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates Basic Education And The Ability To Follow Instructions And Complete Necessary Paperwork.

  • Willingness To Learn: As An Apprentice, A Cdl Driver Will Be Learning On The Job, So A Willingness To Learn And Take Direction Is Essential. This Includes Learning Company Policies And Procedures, As Well As Federal And State Regulations For Transporting Waste Materials.
