- Construct and install scenic elements for productions, ensuring they are built to specifications and deadlines.
- Assist with load-in and load-out of production sets, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with the production team to understand the vision and requirements for each production.
- Operate and maintain rigging equipment, ensuring safety and functionality at all times.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve any technical issues that may arise during productions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work space, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
- Attend production meetings and effectively communicate any concerns or updates to the team.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while working on stage and backstage.
- Assist with other tasks as needed, such as prop construction or set decoration.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and techniques, and make recommendations for improvements to our scenic designs.
Experience In Set Construction: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Constructing Sets For Theatrical Productions Or Film/Television Sets. This Includes Knowledge Of Carpentry, Painting, And Other Construction Techniques.
Knowledge Of Rigging: A Stagehand Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Rigging Systems And Equipment, Including Counterweights, Hoists, And Ropes. They Should Also Be Able To Safely And Efficiently Rig Sets And Scenery.
Ability To Read Technical Drawings: As A Stagehand, The Candidate Should Be Able To Read And Interpret Technical Drawings And Plans For Set Designs. This Includes Understanding Scale, Measurements, And Material Requirements.
Physical Stamina: This Job Requires Long Hours Of Physically Demanding Work, Including Lifting Heavy Objects, Climbing Ladders, And Standing For Extended Periods. The Candidate Should Be In Good Physical Shape And Able To Handle The Demands Of The Job.
Teamwork And Communication Skills: A Stagehand Works Closely With Other Members Of The Production Team, Including Directors, Designers, And Other Stagehands. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For A Smooth And Successful Production.
