- Manage the assignment desk budget, including allocating resources and approving expenses.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve and innovate the company's news coverage.
- Train and mentor team members to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in all news coverage.
- Prepare and present regular reports on the performance of the national assignment desk, including audience reach, engagement, and feedback.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences, building relationships with other media professionals and staying informed on emerging trends and technologies.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Journalism, Communications, Or A Related Field
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Newsroom Setting, With At Least 2 Years In A Leadership Or Editorial Role
Strong Understanding Of National And International News, As Well As Current Events And Political Landscape
Excellent Writing, Editing, And Storytelling Skills, With A Keen Eye For Accuracy And Detail
Ability To Work Under Pressure And Handle Multiple Assignments Simultaneously, While Meeting Tight Deadlines And Maintaining High Editorial Standards
