  1. Proofreading and editing news copy for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and spelling.
  2. Ensuring that all content adheres to established style and tone guidelines.
  3. Fact-checking information and verifying sources.
  4. Collaborating with writers, producers, and other team members to refine and improve news stories.
  5. Staying up-to-date on current events and news trends to ensure timely and relevant content.
  6. Identifying and correcting any inconsistencies, errors, or discrepancies in news copy.
  7. Assisting in the development of new content ideas and angles.
  8. Conducting research and fact-checking for breaking news stories.
  9. Checking for legal issues, such as libel and copyright infringement.
  10. Collaborating with graphics and video teams to ensure accurate and effective use of visual elements.
  11. Meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple projects at once.
  12. Contributing to discussions and providing valuable input on editorial decisions.
  13. Maintaining a high level of attention to detail and ensuring all content is error-free before publication.
  14. Upholding ethical standards and maintaining the integrity of the newsroom.
  15. Continuously learning and staying updated on industry standards and best practices.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Journalism, Communications, Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience As A Copy Editor In A Fast-Paced Newsroom Environment

  • Excellent Attention To Detail And Ability To Meet Tight Deadlines

  • Familiarity With Current Events And Ability To Fact-Check And Verify Information Quickly And Accurately.
