- Safely and efficiently handle incoming and outgoing freight, including loading and unloading trucks, palletizing merchandise, and transporting goods within the distribution center.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move merchandise as needed.
- Accurately and efficiently process inventory, ensuring proper labeling, sorting, and placement in designated areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure the smooth flow of merchandise through the distribution center.
- Meet productivity goals and perform tasks within designated timeframes.
- Identify and report any issues or discrepancies with incoming or outgoing merchandise.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and inventory control measures.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Walmart by providing excellent customer service to internal and external partners.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Adhere to attendance and punctuality standards to ensure timely and efficient operations.
Physical Strength And Stamina: Freight Handling Involves Lifting And Moving Heavy Objects, So Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.
Attention To Detail: Freight Handlers Must Be Able To Accurately Sort And Organize Items According To Their Destination, And Ensure That All Items Are Accounted For And Loaded Onto The Correct Trucks.
Time Management Skills: As A Freight Handler At Walmart, You Will Be Responsible For Meeting Strict Deadlines And Ensuring That Shipments Are Loaded And Unloaded In A Timely Manner. Therefore, Strong Time Management Skills Are Essential For This Role.
Teamwork And Communication: Freight Handling Is A Team Effort, And Candidates Must Be Able To Work Well With Others And Communicate Effectively To Ensure Smooth And Efficient Operations.
Forklift And Warehouse Equipment Experience: Many Walmart Locations Use Forklifts And Other Warehouse Equipment To Move And Stack Freight. Candidates With Previous Experience Operating This Type Of Equipment Will Be Viewed Favorably For The Role.
