Freight Handler

As a Freight Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of merchandise through our distribution centers. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, organizing and maintaining inventory, and working with a team to meet daily quotas. Our ideal candidate is a hard-working individual with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Safely and efficiently load and unload merchandise from trucks using appropriate equipment and following company procedures
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated areas, ensuring accuracy and proper placement
- Work with a team to meet daily quotas and ensure timely processing of merchandise
- Inspect and report any damaged or incorrect merchandise to management
- Operate equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and responsible manner
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety and sanitation guidelines
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth workflow and address any issues or concerns
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and time management guidelines
- Assist with other duties as needed, including but not limited to stocking shelves, labeling merchandise, and fulfilling orders
- Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency and productivity in the freight handling process.
Physical Strength And Stamina: A Freight Handler At Walmart Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Lift Heavy Objects, Stand For Long Periods Of Time, And Perform Physically Demanding Tasks.
Attention To Detail: Accurate Inventory Management Is Crucial For Walmart's Supply Chain, So A Freight Handler Must Have Strong Attention To Detail To Ensure The Correct Products Are Received, Stored, And Shipped.
Forklift Operation Skills: Many Warehouses Use Forklifts To Move Heavy Items, So Experience And Skill In Operating A Forklift Is A Valuable Qualification For A Freight Handler At Walmart.
Time Management Skills: Walmart's Supply Chain Operates On A Tight Schedule, So A Freight Handler Must Be Able To Work Efficiently And Prioritize Tasks To Meet Shipping Deadlines.
