Pharmacy Technician

Vons is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. We are looking for an individual who has an extensive knowledge of the pharmacy industry, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for helping others. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work independently and take initiative to ensure that our customers receive the best pharmacy experience possible. To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED, and have a minimum of one year of experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy assistant. A pharmacy technician certification is preferred. Applicants must also have strong organizational and communication skills, as well as be able to handle confidential patient information. The successful candidate should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable working with computers.

Responsibilities:

1. Keep track of patient information and medication orders
2. Assist customers with prescription questions and concerns
3. Process and fill prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant pharmacy laws and regulations
5. Check for drug interactions and contraindications
6. Enter patient data into the pharmacy computer system
7. Assist pharmacists with medication compounding and labeling
8. Follow proper storage and security procedures for medications
9. Manage and maintain pharmacy inventory
10. Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
