  1. Develop and execute test plans and procedures for driving performance of Volvo Group vehicles.
  2. Conduct various tests on vehicles, including road tests, track tests, and simulations, to evaluate performance and identify any potential issues.
  3. Analyze test data and provide reports to engineering teams to support design improvements and modifications.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of vehicle performance are thoroughly tested and evaluated.
  5. Troubleshoot and diagnose any issues that arise during testing and work with engineering teams to develop solutions.
  6. Utilize knowledge of automotive engineering principles and standards to ensure vehicles meet safety, reliability, and quality standards.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in vehicle testing technology to continuously improve testing processes and procedures.
  8. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all testing activities and results.
  9. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during testing and ensure compliance with company policies.
  10. Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
  11. Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to conduct joint testing and evaluations.
  12. Participate in design reviews and provide input on potential design changes to improve vehicle performance.
  13. Support the development and implementation of new testing procedures and equipment.
  14. Communicate effectively with team members and management to report progress, issues, and recommendations.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Knowledge Of Automotive Systems And Components: A Test Engineer - Driving Performance Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Vehicle Systems And Components, Including Engines, Transmissions, Brakes, And Electronic Systems. This Knowledge Is Crucial For Identifying And Troubleshooting Performance Issues During Testing.

  • Proficiency In Test Equipment And Tools: Candidates For This Role Should Be Familiar With Various Testing Equipment And Tools Commonly Used In The Automotive Industry, Such As Dynamometers, Data Acquisition Systems, And Diagnostic Tools. They Should Also Have The Ability To Calibrate And Maintain These Tools To Ensure Accurate Results.

  • Experience In Conducting Performance Tests: Test Engineers - Driving Performance Should Have Hands-On Experience In Conducting Various Performance Tests, Such As Acceleration, Braking, Handling, And Fuel Efficiency. They Should Also Be Able To Analyze And Interpret Test Data To Determine The Vehicle's Performance And Identify Areas For Improvement.

  • Knowledge Of Industry Standards And Regulations: Familiarity With Industry Standards And Regulations, Such As Iso And Sae, Is Essential For A Test Engineer - Driving Performance. They Should Also Stay Updated On Any Changes Or Updates To These Standards To Ensure Compliance During Testing.

  • Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills: In Addition To Technical Knowledge And Experience, A Test Engineer - Driving Performance Should Possess Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills.
