  1. Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on HGVs using diagnostic equipment and tools.
  3. Perform pre-delivery inspections and quality checks on new or used HGVs.
  4. Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used for each HGV.
  5. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  6. Stay updated on new technology and equipment in the industry to enhance job performance.
  7. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on HGVs.
  8. Collaborate with other departments such as parts and sales to ensure customer satisfaction.
  9. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing and resolving any concerns or issues raised by customers.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
  11. Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians.
  12. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the service department.
  13. Travel to customer locations for on-site repairs when necessary.
  14. Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
  15. Continuously strive to meet and exceed performance targets and goals set by the company.

Job Qualifications
  • Formal Education And Training In Heavy Vehicle Mechanics: A Hgv Technician At Volvo Group Should Have Completed A Relevant Vocational Or Technical Course In Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, And Preferably Have A Certificate Or Diploma In The Field.

  • Relevant Work Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Repairing And Maintaining Heavy Commercial Vehicles, Preferably With A Focus On Volvo Trucks, Is Required For This Position. Experience With Diagnosing And Troubleshooting Complex Mechanical Issues Is Also Preferred.

  • Strong Technical Skills: The Candidate Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Heavy Vehicle Systems, Including Engines, Transmissions, Brakes, And Electrical Systems. They Should Also Be Proficient In Using Diagnostic Tools And Software To Identify And Resolve Technical Issues.

  • Attention To Detail And Safety: As A Hgv Technician, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Ensuring That All Repairs And Maintenance Work Is Performed To The Highest Quality Standards And In Compliance With Safety Regulations. Attention To Detail And A Strong Commitment To Safety Are Therefore Essential Qualifications For This Role.

  • Teamwork And Communication Skills: Hgv Technicians At Volvo Group Often Work As Part Of A Team, So Strong Teamwork And Communication Skills Are Necessary To Collaborate Effectively With Other Technicians And Service Advisors.
