Group VAT Manager

We are seeking an experienced Group VAT Manager to join the Vodafone team! This role will be responsible for managing the VAT and other indirect tax compliance in the UK and a number of other countries in Europe. The ideal candidate should be a qualified accountant, have a deep understanding of VAT principles and have extensive experience in a similar role. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, a proactive and confident attitude, and be highly organized and detail oriented. Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation, review and filing of VAT and other indirect tax returns for the UK and other countries in Europe
• Provide advice and guidance to the business on VAT and other indirect tax matters
• Research, interpret and analyse complex VAT legislation in order to ensure compliance
• Monitor and review the VAT and other indirect tax positions of the business, and ensure the company is kept up to date with changes in tax legislation
• Manage the VAT compliance process across the business, ensuring that all returns are submitted in a timely and accurate manner.
• Liaise with other departments and external advisors to ensure the company’s tax compliance meets legal and regulatory requirements
• Maintain strong relationships with VAT authorities and other external bodies
• Prepare and deliver training on VAT and other indirect taxation to internal stakeholders
• Prepare and review VAT reconciliations and other financial reports as required
• Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies to the VAT and other indirect tax processes
• Support the development and delivery of tax planning and other strategic initiatives
